The Lodge

Located oceanfront inside Big Bay, Stuart Island, we consider ourselves “downtown” with local facilities near by but still 40 miles from the nearest city. Our lodge could be described as rustically modern and country clean! Sip on your favourite drink while watching an epic sunset from our oceanfront 900 sq/ft deck!

Dining Room – Natural wood features accent our pre-fab Panabode Western Red Cedar log building. A live edge cedar bar, flat screen entertainment with WIFI and stereo, spacious dining room and kitchenette are ready for a group of 20. Lot’s to peruse with unique NW art, interesting books and games, and our small gift shop filled with a variety of lodge merchandise.

Guest Lodge – A large covered front porch made with local old growth cedar beams and boards, 4000 sq/ft Panabode Western Red Cedar log building with 7 bedrooms and baths, including 2 Master Suites. Quiet starry nights, ocean breezes and a comfy bed will have you rested and ready for the next day’s adventures.

General Information

Open from May through October each year, Nanook Lodge accommodates up to 18 guests at a time. Lodge exclusivity is available upon request for larger groups. Many customers re-book for the coming year and have “their specific dates”, so contact us soon about our availability. Our concierge service is happy to explain every aspect of your fishing trip. Information on what to bring, how to get here and what to expect can be provided with a quick introductory phone call by one of the Andersons. Please call us today!

At the lodge:

Private rooms feature queen size beds, private baths and showers, satellite television, WIFI and many other amenities.
Darts, Horseshoes, Board Games and plenty of space to stretch out.
Cozy up by the fire-pit with your favourite wine or beer: a perfect spot to wind down after a day of ocean adventures.
Beautiful flower beds and gardens as well as walking and hiking trails with easy access from lodge property.

We also have a dedicated outdoor space set up if you’d like to workout – perfect for your morning yoga routine!

Corporate Retreats

Nanook Lodge is the “corporate clubhouse” for many North American companies wanting exclusivity for their best customers and top performing employees. With an intimate setting hosting a maximum of twenty guests, the Nanook staff provide excellent service, gourmet meals and fishing with the best guides in the Pacific Northwest.
Using chartered or scheduled seaplane service from Seattle or Vancouver, our Nanook concierge will assist your travel planner in making this trip to Stuart Island, BC a breeze! Board meetings, informal discussions and even continuing “ed” classes can be held in-between fishing and outdoor adventure. Meeting facilities, Wi-Fi, cell service and satellite TV are all available.
